MATCH REPORT | Charing FC 2–3 Minster FC Reserves
Minster FC Reserves produced a superb comeback from two goals down to secure their first victory of the season with a 3–2 win away at Charing FC.

Despite finding themselves 2–0 down inside the opening 15 minutes, Minster showed plenty of character and resilience to fight their way back into the contest, with goals from Tom Coveney, Haydn Grey and Luke Harvey completing an impressive turnaround.
The visitors had actually made the brighter start and created enough opportunities to have established an early lead of their own. However, two individual mistakes proved costly, allowing Charing to strike twice in quick succession and leave Minster facing an uphill battle.
Despite the early setback, the Reserves continued to play with confidence and were rarely troubled outside of the two goals conceded. There remained a belief within the Minster camp that they had enough to get themselves back into the game, and Coveney's goal gave them the foothold they needed.

With Minster trailing 2–1 and around 35 minutes remaining, the introduction of Ansou Diame and Luke Harvey provided further energy and helped turn the contest in the visitors' favour.

Both substitutes made a significant impact as Minster continued to push forward in search of an equaliser. Haydn Grey eventually found the breakthrough to bring the scores level at 2–2 and set up a thrilling finish.

Momentum was now firmly with the visitors, and it was Harvey who completed the comeback, capping an impressive contribution from the bench with a well-taken goal to put Minster 3–2 ahead.

Beyond the result, the performance represented an important step forward for the Reserves. The players had been spoken to at length before kick-off about the standards and behaviours expected of them throughout the season, and their response after falling two goals behind demonstrated those qualities.

The display was arguably the strongest indication yet of the squad developing into a genuine team, with players working for one another and showing the determination required to overcome a difficult situation.

There remains plenty to improve upon, particularly after the individual errors that contributed to Charing's early advantage, but the character shown to recover from 2–0 down and leave with all three points provides plenty of encouragement for the campaign ahead.

Most importantly, Minster FC Reserves are off the mark for the season — and they did it in memorable fashion.
