A hard-fought point against a young, energetic Thamesmead side might prove valuable as the season wears on – but this was a match Minster will feel they could, and perhaps should, have won.

The hosts struck early, taking the lead after just 45 seconds and putting Minster immediately on the back foot. The response came midway through the first half when Jake Munday, in only his second competitive appearance for the club, netted his second goal of the season to bring the sides level.

Minster pressed hard for a winner, striking the post and forcing several fine saves from the Thamesmead goalkeeper. Despite the pressure, the breakthrough never came, and the visitors were left to settle for a share of the spoils.
