Minster travelled to Kings Hill and came away with a hard-earned point in a competitive Premier Division fixture.

Goalless First Half

Whilst the first half remained 0-0 the game was a good one with both teams having good spells; whilst the better chances came from Minster, with John Argyrides missing from close range and Ollie Harris forcing a fantastic save from the Kings Hill Goalkeeper.

All Action Second Half

The hosts struck first against the run of play with a speculative long-range effort, but Minster showed strong character to respond. The equaliser came when Jack Hawkins’ strike crashed against the post, with Ollie Harris alert to fire home the rebound and level the scores.

Minster continued to cause problems in behind, and Hawkins’ pace and persistence drew repeated fouls from the opposition back line. Having already been brought down earlier in the half, Hawkins again broke clear just outside the area before being pulled down by the last defender, who was subsequently dismissed. From the resulting free-kick, Todd Jordan stepped up and delivered a superb finish into the top corner to give Minster the lead.

With the numerical advantage, Minster pressed for a decisive third but were denied by resolute defending and a late equaliser from the hosts. Despite the disappointment of conceding late on, Minster left with a valuable point and plenty of positives to take forward.

Next Fixture - Minster return to action on Bank Holiday Monday, 25th August, hosting Cuxton 1991 at Hartsdown Park. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:45pm.
